To make no decision in regard to the growth of authoritarian government is already a decision for it - Francis A. Schaeffer

Hello, I am Francis A. Schaeffer. I’d like to share a thought that has stood the test of time:

"To make no decision in regard to the growth of authoritarian government is already a decision for it."

This is a sentence to memorize because it highlights a profound truth about human nature and governance. In my time, I witnessed the ideological struggles of the 20th century—fascism, communism, and the creeping rise of authoritarianism under various guises. People often believed that staying silent, doing nothing, or remaining neutral was a safe and morally acceptable position. But history proves otherwise. Indifference, inaction, or the refusal to make a choice always tilts the scale toward tyranny. It is not a passive decision; it is an enabling one.
