The purpose of propaganda

It turns neighbors into enemies, dissenters into traitors, and whole groups of people into less-than-human targets.

🗣️ “The purpose of propaganda is to make one set of people forget that other sets of people are human.” — Aldous Huxley

In Huxley’s time, propaganda fueled wars and dictatorships. It turned neighbors into enemies, dissenters into traitors, and whole groups of people into less-than-human targets.

But here’s the truth: propaganda is alive and well today.
It doesn’t always look like a dictator’s speech — sometimes it’s a meme, a headline, or a slogan that divides us into tribes. Leftist. Right-winger. Radical. Sheep. These words aren’t about truth. They’re about control.

👉 When you slap a label on someone, you’re not defeating propaganda — you’re falling for it. You and the person you disagree with are both being fed the same diet of division by systems that profit from keeping us apart.

The fact is: you both bleed, both hope, both love, both fear. You are both human. And until we remember that, we’ll stay pawns in someone else’s game.

So next time you see a meme or label that makes you think someone is your enemy, pause.
That’s not your thought — it’s propaganda working on you.
